Step1 Warm up
1、Enjoy a song : Happy New Year!
T: The song is about “New Year”. Today, we will learn Unit 8 Happy New Year!
2、Read the title: Unit 8 Happy New Year!
3、T: New Year’s Day is coming. How will they greet each other?
S: Happy New Year!
Read: Happy New Year!
4、Cultural tip (文化小常识):
(1)英文中“New Year’s Day”(新年)指的是1月1日。
(2)汉语中“新年”指的是春节。
祝福语:英文中说“Happy New Year!”。汉语中说:“新年快乐!身体健康!恭喜发财!…”
(3)T: The traditional present in China is red packet. It means “Best Wishes!”
寓意:它代表着一种长辈对晚辈的美好祝福,它是长辈送给孩子的护身符,保佑孩子在新的一年里健康吉利。
Step2 Presentation and practice

(1) T: We can get some presents on New Year’s Day. Look! I have a box. There are some presents in it. Do you want to get it?
Ss: Yes.
T: But you must pass 5 levels. Now, we are here(第一关). Ready?
Ss: Go!
(2) T: Level 1 Let’s open! There are three boxes. What colour is this box?
S: It’s red.
T: How about this box?
S: It’s blue\yellow.
T: Good! Let’s open the red box.
Ss: Open the red box.
(3) T: What’s this?
S: It’s a doll.
Read and spell: doll
(4) Chant: This, this, what’s this? Doll, doll, it’s a doll.
(5)T: Blue or yellow?
S: Blue \yellow.
T&Ss: Open the blue \yellow box.
T: What’s that?

T: Uncle 除了有“叔叔”的意思,还有伯伯、舅舅、姑父、姨夫等意思。
